Happy Holidays from Belz & Case Team

Our team is excited to partner with the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation (FCCPR) for our holiday donation this year!

I have served as a member of the Carson City Parks and Recreation Commission for 4 years now. I have seen firsthand the dedication and passion of the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department staff. They truly care about our community, the outdoors, and a system of parks, trails, and open spaces that is accessible and enjoyable for everyone. One of their partners is the FFCPR, a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization which provides an 'umbrella' under which like-minded organizations and citizens can come together to help promote, facilitate, and fund parks-related projects and activities. The Foundation acts in a fiduciary capacity by managing and protecting monies raised for approved projects and enables donations to those projects to be tax-deductible. From the disc golf course, to dog parks, and children’s programs, the Foundation provides a flexible funding arm for neighborhood groups looking to improve our community parks, trails, and programs.

Our donation will be added to the scholarship account which helps offset the costs of children’s programs and activities. We hope to encourage and nurture a love of the outdoors, swimming, skating, biking and all kinds of park activities and events for all children.

See you in the great outdoors!

A note from David S. Johnson, President, The Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation.

Our thanks and gratitude go out to you for your support and to all at Belz & Case for the generous donation to the Foundation. It represents a clear investment in our community's future.

As you know, Carson City's Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department offers an amazing range of programs and activities for children. A child's participation in these goes well beyond giving them "something to do;" rather, through their participation, a child develops and grows important life skills that they can carry for a lifetime.

Belz & Case's support for the Foundation's Parks Program Scholarships helps us change lives. The donation advances the quality of life in our community as it helps make those programs accessible to even more children. The scholarship fund enables children from families who can not afford a program's full costs to participate. This is particularly the case for larger families who, without the assistance the fund provides, are faced with having to decide which child can participate in a Parks program and finally end up sending no one, rather than favoring one child above others.

Thank you again; we hope that you and your colleagues at Belz & Case have the best of holidays.
